It affects the Messages app you would normally use to send texts on an Android phone.

Previously, emoji reactions were limited to a standard set of seven.

That means you’re extremely limited when it comes to responding to texts.

But tech blog 9to5Google has revealed that Google is now rolling out full emoji reactions for some users.

So update your app and check your phone to see if you have the new feature.

It appears to be rolling out now, so it’s possible your account doesn’t have access.

But if the test goes well, you’ll eventually get the feature.

It’s a similar move to WhatsApp, which initially only supported select emoji reactions before eventually rolling out the full list of icons.

Apple’s iMessage has a limited set of emoji-style reactions — but it’s not quite the same.

This is called the tapback system and uses Apple-created icons instead of generic emojis.

That means Android has crawled ahead of its rival for now.

Google previously restricted Messages users to emoji reactions with thumbs up, thumbs down, smiling face with heart eyes, face with tears of joy, face with open mouth, crying face, and angry face.

But now, when you press and hold any text, you’ll see a plus icon that takes you to the full list of emojis.

Note that the feature only works if you are using Android’s RCS chat system.

That means it doesn’t work when sending a text as standard SMS or to an iPhone.
