Google Maps ‘DOWN’ – Thousands of users are warning that the app has stopped working

According to DownDetector, GOOGLE Maps is experiencing a global outage.
Users have flocked to social media to complain.
A frustrated user tweeted, “For the first time in my life, Google Maps is unavailable.”
Another said: “Google Maps is down. Right now, you look out the window to see lost commuters, people in cars with no idea where they’re going, and planes falling out of the sky.”
Another added: “The Google Maps outage is a bigger disruption to my day than I expected.”
The reason for the outage is currently unclear.


Downdetector in the US has over 12,000 reports of an issue.
Over 11,000 issues have been reported in the UK.
Reports of issues began around 11:15am ET (3:15pm GMT).
Most of the problems reported on Downdetector concern the website and the app.
A Google spokesperson told us: “We are seeing reports of difficulties accessing some Google Maps and Google Maps Platform services.
“Our team is investigating and working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
Millions of people are believed to have been affected by the outage.


Many try to access Google Maps only get an error message.
The message reads: “Cards cannot reach the Internet.”
