GMB’s Richard Gaisford hides after hearing air raid sirens
Good Morning Britain viewers were extremely worried for reporter Richard Gaisford when bomb sirens interrupted his live coverage from Kyiv.
The GMB chief reporter, who is currently residing in the Ukrainian capital when Russian troops invaded the country, spoke to hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard when he was forced to wear his devices.
He seemed a little shaken when the show cut from his coverage as he covered up.
As Richard tackled the overnight attacks, a siren was heard in the background as he said: “As we speak, the sirens of the air raid are sounding here in Kyiv – It’s become a regular thing here. Just letting the people know that there is a threat they can take shelter and obviously make an assessment for themselves and their own security.”
He looked over his shoulder as Kate asked, “Richard, when we heard the sirens of that air raid and I knew our viewers were worried about you. Are you safe? Should you run? shelter? Have you taken any precautions?”

“Yes, we took some precautions but we got it – in fact, it was just passed on to me,” he replied as he put on his helmet. “We’ve got our personal protective equipment to put on. We’ve got our vests too, should the need arise. It’s been a tough time for a lot of people, obviously, in the city. , who do not have this type of device.
“As I look out now, there are still people walking across the street, walking their dogs.”
Kate interjected, saying, “We’ll get you to safety, Richard, and we’ll get you back.”
“Sure,” he said before leaving the screen.

“You will be safe,” Kate insisted.
Ben added: “Always be professional.”
Richard later returned to GMB as he continued reporting, but viewers were extremely worried about him when they took to Twitter to comment.
One person wrote: “OMG taking Richard home ffs not worth shooting #GMB.”
