Gemma Atkinson revealed her parenting role on Lorraine on Monday and said her fiance Gorka Márquez had to go on tour just three days after their baby girl Mia was born in July 2019.

Gemma Atkinson has revealed that Gorka Márquez was in tears while on tour shortly after their daughter was born.
Gemma, 37, gave birth to baby Mia in July 2019, but due to a contractual agreement, Gorka, the star of the serious TV series, had to say goodbye to the tour.
Speaking to presenter Christine Lampard, former Emmerdale actress Gemma said on Monday’s episode of Lorraine: “I mean he had to go on tour when she was three days old.
“And again, he’s grieved over it but he’s got a contract… he’s got a contract and it’s not just his gig, it’s the production he does. he will be disappointed.
“And yes, he obviously has to keep social media going for his show and ticket sales, so I watched all this stuff online about him and Giovanni and Aljaž totally and I sat at I was at home with my stitches and you know, the nurses came over to change my bandages, Mia cried, and I just said, “Oh my gosh, this is my life and nothing will change it for me. with him”. “
Gemma continued: “And I remember telling my mom about it and she said, ‘usually the boys will go back to work, things change, obviously there are different people in a lot of things. different situations…”
“But on tour, it was Gio, Giovanni [Pernice] texted me and said, ‘Gorka isn’t herself, I just told you’, and I FaceTimed him and they went out one night, all the boys, and he was in the guest house. hotel alone.
“And he was really upset, he said, ‘I don’t want to be here, I want to be at home with you and our baby’.
“And I suddenly realized that the partner coming home from work is also more difficult than the partner at home, you guys are a bit frustrated with each other.
“But it was the case that as soon as he left the tour, I was like ‘your go,'” Gemma joked as she mimicked the delivery of a child.
At the end of the interview, Christine revealed that Gorka recorded a very special video message for Gemma.
As the clip plays, Gorka can be heard saying: “Hi honey, it’s me. I know you’re on Lorraine today so I just wanted to say I’m so proud of you, can’t wait for the book to come out. Your book comes out and people can read it. So I just want to see I love you and I’m proud of you.”
Gemma looked super thoughtful and revealed, “He’s so sweet. You know, he’s been like that since day one! He’s so romantic and adorable.”
