Govinda Fichtner has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO). ICE CREAMa Europe-wide hub for music licenses created by three collecting societies: PRS for music (UK), STIM (Sweden) and GEMA (Germany).
Fichtner comes from IONOS, a web hosting and cloud provider in Europe.
ICE says it has distributed more than €2.3 billion to rightsholders to date, it said.
In his last role at IONOS as VP Cloud Technology, Fichtner was responsible for expanding and building the company’s cloud alternative by developing and operating a product portfolio with extensive development projects in a technology organization spread across several countries.
Fichtner brings more than 23 years of IT industry experience to the role at ICE, having started his career as a software engineer in the media industry.
He has also worked in various engineering-related roles for companies ranging from start-ups to corporations such as T-Systems and IBM.
At IBM, according to ICE, as CTO AWS, Fichtner built up the AWS business for IBM Business Services in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
He was also responsible for supporting customers with his expertise as Chief Architect and developing large-scale, distributed applications in the IoT space.
Govinda will take up his post in April 2022.
