TV star Graham Norton marked his recent wedding with an intimate party in his hometown of West Cork over the weekend with about 120 guests in attendance.
He rolled out the red carpet at Bantry House for a lavish blessing ceremony between Norton (59) and his partner as they celebrated their union at scenic west Cork. The venue is closed to the public so the BAFTA winner can enjoy a private party with his family and closest friends.
Scottish singer Lulu is said to have entertained guests at the event as well as a DJ set by Panti Bliss, aka Rory O’Neill, followed by a performance by members of the Riverdance crew. According to the Irish Examiner, a local principal performed a blessing ceremony at the four-star venue.
The next day saw the burlesque gather at Norton’s holiday home in Ahakista, where several large booze parties were held on the grounds for the second day of the party.
Norton grew up in Bandon and is a frequent visitor back to west Cork, where he taped his Virgin Radio UK show. He was recently photographed enjoying a drink in the sun with a group of friends at Arundel’s pub in Ahakista, ahead of his wedding celebration.
A five-time BAFTA winner, he has also turned his attention to the literary world in recent years with his latest novel ‘Forever Home’ to be published this year. A television play for his first novel, Holding, had previously aired in 2022, starring Cork’s Siobhán McSweeney.
Formerly listed as one of the BBC’s highest paid employees, Norton is listed in 2020 as the third highest paid presenter with an annual salary of €815,000 for Radio 2 programming alone. his.
He dropped out of the show late last year after jumping ship to Virgin Radio so was not on last year’s BBC ‘top 10’ list.
His award-winning Friday night talk show, produced by BBC Studios, is classified as a commercial entity and is exempt from the list.
