Graham Potter plans to use Maupay as Brighton Face Brentford

Salernitana want Neal Maupay – but Graham Potter was only thinking of giving the striker more playing time after the Reading win.

Potter spoke to the media after Maupay was only active for 20 minutes on Saturday.

Albion have a behind-closed-doors friendly against Maupay’s former club Brentford tomorrow when Potter plans to use players who had limited minutes on Saturday.

When asked after Reading’s game if Maupay was happy at Albion, head coach Potter said: “Yes, he is.

“You can’t comment on these things that appear in the papers, but no problems with Neal.

“He had a good pre-season, we know what he’s about.

“We looked at a few things today.

“He’ll be back on Tuesday and he’ll be back on Saturday (at home against Espanyol).”

Summer signing Julio Enciso, who played the last 20 minutes, appears to be improving his chances of staying in the squad for the Prem campaign, although Potter reveals very little.

He said: “We’ll use Tuesday’s game to give the lads a little more time on the pitch because it’s important to get as much information as possible before making a decision.

“But we’re getting closer to understanding what we need, what’s right for the players, what’s right for us.” Graham Potter plans to use Maupay as Brighton Face Brentford
