Graham Potter has laughed at talk of a £42m bid for Moises Caicedo and said: That could get its boots.
Albion are “calm and confident” about keeping the Ecuadorian midfielder on board.
Caicedo are likely to be linked with other Premier League clubs heading into the final hours of the transfer window.
But it seems pretty certain that he will stay with the seagulls.
His focus will be on clinching a win tonight in Fulham that would propel them to the top of the Premier League.
Potter said: “It doesn’t surprise me that people look at him because he plays at a fantastic level.
“Once you research him you realize he’s a top kid, a great person, young, plays in the Premier League and has all the qualities to play at the very highest level.”
“But we know his position and we know the club’s position, so we don’t want to lose him.
“We don’t think so, but in football you never know. That’s how it is, but we’re very calm and confident.”
Asked about speculation about a £42m bid from Liverpool, Potter said, laughing: “I think you’d probably get his boots for that, knowing the chairman!
“It’s not my place to talk about it. It is what it is.”
