Graham Potter says Pascal Gross takes credit for his current form.
The Albion head coach praised the example set by more experienced players in his squad.
Gross is arguably playing the best football of his career and scored the winning goal against Leeds on Saturday.
Potter said, “It’s up to him to have that attitude and the professionalism and the desire.
“The way he acts, the way he trains, the way he plays.
“He gives his best every minute every time he plays on a football field. I do relatively nothing.
“That’s all he is and then he’s a role model for everyone else.
“People like Danny (Welbeck) and Lewis (Dunk) and Adam Lallana and those guys are so important because they set standards.
“They act in a way that younger players can look up to.”
Gross signed a new deal in the summer after reports he was returning to Germany.
Potter said, “He wants to learn and keep improving.
“He wants to get the most out of his career and that’s a fantastic way to think about it.
“You need a core of good people and we have that here.
“My job is basically trying to improve everyone, no matter how old they are.
“But I think it’s the older ones that feel like they’re improving, but they’re also okay with taking the role of how the environment is, how people act, because that’s really powerful.”
