Grainne and Sile Seoige have paid tribute to their “incredible” grandmother following her death this week.
The sisters mourn the loss of their beloved Grandma Bidin, who died “peacefully” at her home in Galway on Saturday aged 102.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Sile remembered her grandma as one of the “warmest people you’ve ever met” in a touching tribute.
Sharing a series of sweet photos of Bidín over the years following her memorial service, she wrote, “The end of an era.
“Our beautiful Grandma Bidín (102 years and 10 months) gently breathed her last on Saturday night and today we celebrated her life and said goodbye to an incredible woman who has certainly made her mark in the most beautiful way… through kindness .
“Grandma was one of the warmest people you would ever meet, her hugs were legendary and I am so proud to have been her granddaughter. Your spirit soars high.”
Sile added the hashtags #BidínSheáinDharach #Oidhreacht #Heritage #Bród and #GráMoChroíThú.
Fans and friends flooded the comments section with their condolences, including Glenda Gilson, who wrote: “What a great age… but it’s never easy losing a loved one, especially a great woman like your grandma. May she rest in peace and thinking of you all xxx”
