Gran Turismo 7 reduced in-game rewards and fans fight back

Gran Turismo 7 players are hitting back after a recent nerf.

In a recent update, Gran Turismo 7 rewards were drastically reduced – forcing players to grind even more to get enough credits to buy new cars. The update came under even more fire after introducing controversial microtransactions that cost up to $40 for a single car.

Purchasing in-game credits via microtransactions has replaced the previous model of selling cars for a fixed price, and it was one of many factors that some in the game’s community found just too much.

Now players have started to fight back, exploiting a new way of grinding without even playing the game.

According to VGC, some players have started using the Remote Play feature on PlayStation consoles along with a simple script to race the same race over and over… without even playing it.

The result is that they generate millions of in-game credits without even picking up their controller.

First published on PSProfiles, the method shows how users can use a simple script on Windows computers running the PlayStation Remote Play app to complete laps of the same track over and over again.

“I know people aren’t happy with nerfs and are probably put off by the massive grind, or at least I am,” said user Septomor. “So here are some scripts that were created to adapt to these nerfs.”

The script allows players to leave their console running all day with the same race and can apparently earn up to 625,000 credits per hour, earning some users a staggering 15 million credits per day – a price of $120 on the PSN Store .

At the time of writing, PlayStation has not taken any action against users running the script.

Elsewhere, the Gran Turismo 7 servers were down for more than a day after widespread outages.
