“Grant Shapps should do something to sort out the travel chaos – holidaymakers deserve better” – Voice of the Mirror

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps should focus on his day-to-day job of keeping Britain moving rather than wasting time trying to save a Boris Johnson who doesn’t deserve it

This pathetic traffic chaos with canceled flights, airport delays and train strikes is a huge disaster for the travel industry and a chaotic government.

The fact that people would want to leave once Covid restrictions were lifted was entirely predictable, and yet not enough staff were hired to replace the tens of thousands who were axed during the pandemic.

Flying to an airport with a wing and praying instead of expecting a smooth start is a high price to pay for vacationers who earn far more.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps should focus on his day-to-day job of keeping Britain moving rather than wasting time trying to save a Boris Johnson who doesn’t deserve it.

Rail bosses, negotiating with workers and union leaders who are understandably trying to protect falling living standards, could avert train strikes and must start now.

Corporate and political failures are not new, but post-Covid they are extremely disheartening.

Useless Tories

That nurses have to go to the food bank after a shift to support their families is a shameful condemnation of lawbreaker Boris Johnson and his failing government.

Johnson’s moral bankruptcy is emblematic of a decaying Conservative government unable to provide the economic prosperity, social justice, real opportunity, decency, respect and security that Britain is crying out for.

Filming the prime minister addressing a dour cabinet and rehashing old pronouncements is a distraction from a cynical but incompetent leader. Lines about turning the NHS from a blockbuster service into a Netflix are another superficial slogan from a hollow regime.

England calm

After fears that English fans would bring even more shame to the country, tonight’s game in Munich went relatively smoothly.

One or two idiots have been arrested for performing the Nazi salute, but the vast majority of vibrant, diverse footballers and fans don’t want to be a part of it.
