“Greased Piglet may lose his Get Out of Jail Free card if two key slots are lost” – Kevin Maguire

A wise senior Tory MP told Kevin Maguire a devastating double defeat would bring a defining moment for the ailing Prime Minister and the Conservative Party

He may survive this fatal mistake, but there's another one to come.
The selfish Johnson would still have to be dragged kicking and screaming out of No 10 by panicked Tories discovering selfish backbones

Friday June 24 is the date that could decide the fate of lying, clueless partygoer Boris Johnson.

Lose Red Wall Wakefield and Blue Wall Tiverton and Honiton in the previous day’s scandalous by-election and he’ll be looking at his weakest.

A wise senior Tory MP told me a devastating double defeat would bring the ailing Prime Minister and the Conservative Party a defining moment.

“If both seats fall, we’ll have to choose between saving him or saving ourselves because it’s only going to get worse for all of us,” he predicted.

With the government doing little to ease the cost-of-living crisis and Prime Minister and Chancellor Rishi Sunak squabbling over a North Sea windfall tax, Johnson’s regime is in tatters.

Whitehall investigator Sue Gray’s report on drunken lockdown bashes is expected this week and will be bleak for the fined Prime Minister.

But the greased pig could finally lose his Get Out of Jail card if the two key seats are lost after nearly 500 defeats on the Council earlier this month.

Keir Starmer would be in trouble himself if Labor somehow failed to topple a majority of 3,358 West Yorkshire Torys after the Conservative MP, elected three years ago, was found guilty of abusing a teenager.

Tiverton is a tougher Tory nut to crack for Ed Davey’s Liberal Democrats, but a huge 24,239 Conservative majority could be plowed up following the embarrassment of tractor-porn MP Neil Parish.

Losing Wakefield and just clinging to Tiverton would be an inconclusive judgment Downing Street would take to defend an injured and battered Prime Minister.

“Partygate has lost our respect, the Prime Minister no longer feels like a winner and the cost of living crisis is costing us votes,” said another Tory MP.

“Many colleagues owe their seats to Boris Johnson, but they have to decide whether they are willing to lose them because of Boris Johnson as well.”

The irony for a Labor Party craving Johnson’s scalp is that his stumble into the next election would be to Starmer’s advantage.

Lose the two by-elections and the selfish Johnson would still have to be dragged out of No. 10 by the Tories, who are discovering a self-interested backbone.

The catastrophe for Britain is that the worst Prime Minister in modern history places himself first, second and third.

For him, survival is all that matters as voters in 2019 are paying a heavy price for buying Conservative bullshit.
