Green leader Eamon Ryan’s mother died in an accident while on family vacation.

ary Ryan was on the island of Inisbofin off the coast of Galway at the time of the incident.

She died at Galway University Hospital this morning after being rushed there by the Air Ambulance Service.

An obituary was published on saying Ms Ryan, who lived in Sandycove, Dublin, had died “unexpectedly but peacefully”.

Mrs Ryan is described as the beloved wife of the late Bob and a loving mother to John, Eamon, Robert and Marion.

The message states that she is sorely missed by her children and her partners, her adoring grandchildren Harriet, Lorcan, Séamus, Fintan, Isabella, Jack, Oliver, Ino, Tom, Róise, Sean and Harry, great-grandson George, her sisters. In-laws, extended family, neighbors and friends.

A Green Party spokesman said: “Mary Ryan, mother of John, Eamon, Robert and Marian, died suddenly in the early hours of this morning at Galway University Hospital.
