Gregg’s fans iconic sausage rolls may find they’re spending a little more on the pastry as the High Street bakery has confirmed a price hike.
Previously the famous sausage roll cost £1.10, as of this week it costs £1.15, as reported by The mirror.
Gregg’s has confirmed this increase and cited rising inflation as a key factor.
In a recent tweet, the company said: “Like many other retailers, we have to manage the pressure of rising prices throughout our supply chain. We had to make some small price increases across our range.”
Greggs fans react to sausage roll price hike
Lovers of the famous pastry have taken to Twitter to share their feelings in the news.
One user wrote: “Gregg’s sausage roll is hit by a price hike to show how bad things are”.
Another shared his thoughts but noting the value of a Greggs sausage roll: “You know times are tough when Greggs are raising the price of their sausage roll by 10p to £1.15 but still great value for money Relationship.”
Another wrote of the rise: “Ok this is absolutely the last straw…”
