Greta Thunberg gathers climate experts and activists for new book

Greta Thunberg has created a new book featuring 100 leading climate change experts and activists to provide an overview of how the challenges facing the planet are connected and to tell “the unvarnished truth” about how and why the climate change is changing world changed.

Renowned scientists such as Johan Rockstrom, Michael Mann, Katherine Hayhoe, Friedrike Otto, Stefan Rahmstorf, Saleemul Huq and Carlos Nobre as well as Thomas Piketty, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Naomi Klein and Amitav Ghosh will be represented in the climate book.

Thunberg, 19, will also share her own stories of learning about, demonstrating and exposing greenwashing (the practice of giving the wrong impression or providing misleading information about how a company’s products are more environmentally friendly) around the world.

She said: “This is the greatest story in the world and it needs to be spoken as far and wide as our voices can carry it and beyond.

“That’s why I decided to use my platform to create this book, based on the best science currently available – a book that addresses the climate, environmental and sustainability crisis holistically.

“Because the climate crisis is of course just a symptom of a much larger sustainability crisis. I hope that this book could be a kind of focal point for understanding these different, closely related crises.”

Chloe Currens, Editor at Penguin Press in London, added: “In The Climate Book, Greta has proven to be one of our finest and most exciting new writers.

“She shares her own experiences and expands on what she has learned in a series of insightful, insightful and passionate chapters that tie together the different parts of the book.
