It comes just days after a group of travelers were evicted from Preston Park by police, and around three years after another group was ordered to leave Hove Lawns after an eviction order was issued.

Earlier this week, Brighton and Hove Councilor Dawn Barnett urged the council to do more to tackle the problem of illegal parking of caravans in the city’s public parks.

Cllr Barnett said: “The Council has a soft touch. They say Brighton and Hove is a city of refuge – but for whom? Certainly not the residents.”

Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
