Gruesome & Chaotic Top-Down FPS OTXO could be the next Hotline Miami

Crank up the tunes and let the bullets fly.

Hotline Miami is one of the seminal twin stick action games. Between the crisp graphics and snappy soundtrack, it’s something that, despite many attempts, nothing else has been able to duplicate. However, a new game called OTXO (pronounced oh-cho apparently) looks like it might have what it takes to fill Hotline Miami’s footsteps.
Developed by Lateralis, OTXO is a chaotic top-down shooter that’s black, white, and red everywhere. The game seems to follow the style of Sin City, with only certain things (like the copious amounts of blood) being in color. The game will be available from April 20th steam and can now be added to your Wishlist.
OTXO doesn’t seem to be as brutally difficult as Hotline Miami either, as the gameplay video shows a health bar in the bottom right. This means there will be room for error so you can let the bullets fly like you’re living through a John Woo (Face/Off, Hard Target) flick.
When is OTXO coming to Steam?
As for the main character, in OTXO you play an amnesiac who can’t remember his name, but storms a mansion because he at least remembers that he has to rescue a missing/kidnapped girl. You can also use a slow motion mechanic so you can pretend to be Max Payne while mowing down enemies. With “over 100 skills to acquire” and “an array of unlockable weapons,” there’s plenty of practiced mayhem to wreak.
At the moment it’s only known that OTXO will be coming to PC, but the announcement tweet at least mentioned that a console release should be confirmed, so it’s at least being considered.
