GTA 6 leaker wants to “negotiate” with Rockstar to remove videos

YESTERDAY an anonymous leaker released more than 90 clips from the early development of GTA 6.

They have since left a comment on the GTA forums asking developer Rockstar or publisher Take Two to “negotiate” with them.

More than 90 clips from the upcoming game have been leaked.

Going by the name of teapotuberhacker, the user wrote: “Ok this (the leaks) went viral unexpectedly.

“Woke up to 3000 DM. If you are a Rockstar or Take Two employee trying to contact me, send me a message from your company email address.

“I will try to read all these answers soon. I’m trying to negotiate a deal.”

Take Two appears to have no intention of negotiating with the leaker.

The publisher has already started sending out a series of DMCA takedown notices.

These are requests from copyright owners to remove media containing their copyrighted material.

In this case, the footage belongs to Rockstar and Take Two and therefore the leaker has no right to release the clips.

Fan reactions to the footage have been extremely negative.

Many point out that the footage looks worse than many scenes from GTA V, a game that is now nine years old.

However, many do not take into account that GTA 6 is still at a very early stage of development.

The development team had no intention of releasing any footage so early, and all the footage shown is far from complete.

Despite this, people are still eager to get their first glimpse of the upcoming game and hence judge it before it’s done.

Other developers have spoken out and warned about the leaks.

Neil Druckmann, creator of Uncharted and The Last of Us, spoke about the leaks on social media.

Druckmann has also been hit by leaks recently, with footage of The Last of Us Part 1 leaked online ahead of the game’s release.

He said: “To my fellow developers out there who have been impacted by the latest leak, know that while it may feel overwhelming right now, it will pass.

“One day we’ll play your game and appreciate your craft, and the leaks will be relegated to a footnote on a Wikipedia page.

“Keep pressing. Keep making art.”
