GTA 6 leaks in BIG trouble amid FBI investigation

The FBI and US Department of Justice are investigating the case of a hacker who released nearly a hundred videos of Rockstar’s upcoming game GTA 6.

Publisher Take Two has been working to remove the videos since they were uploaded online.

This includes issuing takedown notices as the copyright owner of the game.

The videos were illegally uploaded online after Rockstar’s security was breached and a hacker managed to download early footage of the game.

The hacker wrote on the GTA forums asking to “negotiate” with the company to prevent further videos and information from being released.

However, Rockstar has decided to go the legal route and now the relevant authorities are getting involved.

Rockstar is partnering with Uber, which also suffered a security breach earlier this month.

The hacks were reportedly carried out by a group called Lapsus, which has also been linked to other major hacks in the tech industry.

Microsoft and Nvidia were also reportedly hacked by Lapsus earlier this year, with the group managing to access the companies’ private data.

In a statement, Uber said: “Over the weekend, there were reports that the same actor injured video game maker Rockstar Games.

“We are in close coordination with the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice on this matter and will continue to support their efforts.”

Following the attack, Rockstar released a statement claiming GTA 6 will not be delayed despite the leaks.

It states: “At this point in time, we do not expect any interruption to our live game services, nor any long-term impact on the development of our ongoing projects.”

“Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game continues as planned, and as always, we are committed to providing you, our players, with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations.”

The studio also claims that it will soon be releasing official footage of the upcoming game when it’s ready.

Other developers expressed their condolences over the security breach as fans were disappointed with the current state of the game.

It should be noted that the stolen footage is from an early build of the game and does not reflect the final product.
