Post-release support for Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons continue. Today, ArenaNet released an update focusing on polishing, several bug fixes, improved player experience, and some additional cats to pet.
While recent updates have included bug fixes and a bunch of tweaks to The Battle for the Jade Sea late game, this time around much of the rest of the game gets the spotlight. Although the Battle for the Pearl Sea gets some attention. In a changeover, there is an adjustment to the single-stage transition to address potential exploitation. On the other hand, a spirit that appeared too often was adjusted. Some of the cases where you receive the Memories of Aurene rewards have also been changed.
Some of the polish is intuitive, with changes like making sure the correct item names are implemented, moving some buttons so they stay in place and no longer appear on the ground, and things like dialogs activated at the wrong time. Even some NPCs who tend to talk at the wrong time or in the wrong place, like the tengu from Mori Village, who will be heard through scenes in the story, have been repaired or moved.
The list of fixes is extensive, but they are more or less actual changes that may be subtle, but should improve the overall experience. Classes have some favorites with specializations like the Mechanic’s mech getting stuck in repetitive animations or, at other times, the animation just not going right. The other layer changes are mostly bug fixes like adding the correct icons.
For some people, the best part of patch notes might just be the increased number of kittens around. “A few more cats have made their home at Zen Daijun’s Cat Island. Please take care,” he said.
Whether you’re still making your way through the End of Dragons and your experience has become more viable thanks to the update, or you just want to get more cats, your time has come.
