Hackers fear have infiltrated half of UK businesses due to staff working from home

HACKERS is believed to have penetrated half of UK businesses due to employees working from home.
And 1 in 10 companies confirmed they were the victim of a cyberattack last year, with IT systems thought to be more vulnerable, a study found.
Four out of five companies have no protections against cybercrime, a poll by the British Chambers of Commerce and IT firm Cisco shows.
Shevaun Haviland, General Manager of BCC, said: “The dramatic shift to working from home and cloud computing for tens of thousands of employees happened almost overnight.
“So it’s not surprising that many companies are caught off guard by the impact this has on network security Sort. ”
He added that as companies move to hybrid operations, it is more important than ever for companies to have the right cybersecurity safeguards in place. “
Aine Rogers from Cisco adds: “The line between professional and personal is more blurred than ever.
“Organizations are no longer just guarding an ‘office’ but a workforce at the kitchen table.
“That’s why we needed to develop a mindset to focus on keeping your employees safe and what they’re doing, not where they are.”
