Halle Berry urges women to keep telling stories that ‘show their superstition’

Halle Berry urged women to continue telling stories that showcase their “diversity and contradictions” in a passionate speech at the Critics Choice Awards (CCA).

The Oscar-winning actor has been honored with CCA’s sixth annual SeeHer Award, which honors female members of the industry for their advocacy for gender equality.

Accepting the compliment, she reassured girls all over the world that they would be seen and heard.

“I’m so grateful to be standing and living in this moment where women are standing up and we’re telling our own stories,” she said.

“We’ll write, we’ll produce, we’ll direct, and if we’re brave enough, we’ll do it all at once.

“We’re going to use our emotional intelligence and we’re going to tell stories that don’t fit stereotypes, no.

“We will tell stories so they see us fully in all our diversity and contradictions, because we are confident and we are afraid.

“We are vulnerable and we are strong, we are beautiful and we are abused. We are all and all of that and all at once.”

She added: “These are the stories we need to tell and these are the stories the world needs to see, so for every little girl who feels unseen and unheard of, this is it. is how we tell you: we love you and we see you and you deserve all the good things in this world.” Halle Berry urges women to keep telling stories that ‘show their superstition’
