Halloween 4’s rooftop confrontation is all set on pins and needles

In the film, Jaime and her teenage foster sister, Rachel (Ellie Cornell), take refuge in the sheriff’s fortified house. Of course, Michael Myers showed up and dispatched armed bodyguards, leaving him alone with the sisters. He followed them up the stairs, through the top window, and onto the sloping roof. Rachel slipped and slipped as she crawled to the top and carried Jaime on her back. Myers appeared and crashed into them. In a panic, Rachel crafted a makeshift harness with wire to pull Jaime down to safety, but Myers swung the knife again. Rachel leaves Jaime; Thanks to the harness, she doesn’t fall to the ground anymore. Rachel tumbled and clung to the gutter, but a swipe from Myers sent her to the pavement. It’s one of the most intense scenes in the movie.

“They’re all soldiers, but the crux of the whole scene is that it incorporates a lot of fear,” said Dwight H. Little, the film’s director, told the Daily Dead in 2018. “There’s Michael’s fear, but also the fear of heights and losing someone you love, so it’s scary on so many levels.”

The actors are really soldiers because filming this scene is as dangerous as it appears on screen. The production team built the terrace in a vacant lot in Utah where the film was filmed. They filmed the scene on a chilly March night; the terrace tiles were frozen and slippery. Everyone was strung on a rope, and stuntmen surrounded the roof below in case anyone fell. “We had to be extra careful from every conceivable safety point,” Little said. However, they were unable to save one of their stars from injury.
