Campaign co-op in Halo infinity has been slightly delayed and will not be available at the start of Season 2.
According to 343 Industries, it’s making “great strides” with the campaign network collaboration happening in parallel with work on Season 2, as well as work on Forge.
However, the studio said it will take more time to land a “high-quality, fully-functional four-player network co-op experience.”
The team is also working on the two-player, split-screen co-op experience across all Xbox consoles, from the original Xbox One to Xbox Series X, as well as the non-linear, wide-open portions of the campaign. This has created some “big challenges” for split screen that have taken 343 more time to resolve.
Because of this, 343 says it will not be able to ship Campaign Network Co-op at the start of Season 2. The studio is still aiming to deliver Campaign Network co-op later in Season 2 and will be sharing a release date for it and split-screen co-op as soon as it is able.
Regarding Forge, 343 said it’s making great strides and is already bringing Forge to a small group of community builders. In the near term, Forge will continue to be flown privately, while a public flight is also planned for later this year. The goal is to ship Forge with Season 3.
Season 2 of Halo Infinite, Lone Wolves, premieres May 3rd.
