Hamza Yassin, the star of the dance, said he lost 1.3 stone during the dance competition.
The wildlife cameraman, 32, credits his slimmer figure to professional partner Jowita Przystal and nine hours of worthwhile workouts.
Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley asked about Yassin’s weight loss on Wednesday, saying: “Is it an optical illusion or do you lose a lot?
“Honestly, you’ve lost weight, haven’t you?”
Yassin, who can be seen on CBeebies, Countryfile and ITV’s This Morning, replied: “I have, I have. I have lost almost 8 and a half kg (1.3 stone)… All thanks to (Przystal)
“We’re trying to train for nine hours a day and it’s very hard on the body… My knees and legs are hurting.”
Yassin also said he was close to “dropping his partner” before he got three 10s for his salsa to Sash’s Ecuador! featuring Rodriguez on Saturday.
He said: “There were a few times where the last elevator was where I wobbled (and) luckily I caught her.
“The whole dance had a scare… (and) three or four hurdles…. that I have to overcome and I still don’t really understand them.
“There was a point where I was bringing her down, she saw the struggle on my face… She basically gave me words of encouragement and I said, ‘Okay, we’re going. let’s go “.”
Przystal says she uses a piece of code, made up of phrases and small sounds, to remind Yassin of what should happen next.

“We were constantly communicating while we were dancing,” says Yassin. You can’t always hear it (watch at home). “
He also said he pinned his hair, which he hadn’t cut in 17 years, to his shirt so he could take steps.
“There were parts that were cut off (because) I was at the North Pole,” he added.
“I’ve dipped a little in engine oil and it still comes off from time to time, but hair is a part of who I am.
“Jowita is pretty enough to wear during practice… Sometimes it gets pinned to my shirt.”
Seriously returns on Saturday with a BBC centenary special.
Yassin and Przystal will target 10 others for their quick step to Imagine Dragons’ On Top Of The World in tribute to the BBC nature programme.
“Hopefully it will unite the two, my love for natural history (and) Jowita’s love of dance,” Yassin added.
