Hardcore Elvis fans married to an impersonator singing Suspicious Minds

The couple, who run the Hulaballoo vintage clothing store in Pontypridd, Wales, were married at the Little Vegas Chapel by an impersonator in a gold lamé jacket

As hardcore fans, Greg and Angela Robinson didn’t mind Elvis singing “Suspicious Minds” at their wedding.

Greg says: “It just made us laugh and it still makes us laugh. Every time we hear it now we giggle and think ‘ah yeah, that’s how we got married’.”

Greg, 50, proposed in front of the Bellagio Hotel fountains with his marriage certificate in his back pocket.

Angela, 49, says: “We were on a road trip across the US and had just arrived in Sin City when Greg gave me a piece of paper and said, ‘Would you like to do this?'”

The couple, who run Hulaballoo vintage clothing store in Pontypridd, Wales, were married at the Little Vegas Chapel on May 2, 2018 by an impersonator in a gold lamé jacket.

Greg’s vows included the lines: “Honey, I promise to always love you tenderly. I promise never to leave you crying in the chapel or in the ghetto.”

Angela responded with, “I promise to always take you as my big hunka hunka burning love.

“I promise to always love you tenderly and never treat you like a hound because you will always be my teddy bear.”

Afterward, they enjoyed lobster lollies and strawberry margaritas and watched Cher perform live at the Park Theater.

Angela says, “It’s silly to worry about ‘Elvis quality control’. Nobody takes it that seriously. They don’t expect anyone to fully embody Elvis. It should be about the joy that Elvis brings.”

Greg agrees, saying, “It’s one of the reasons people go to Vegas. They watch shows, play games and marry an Elvis impersonator.

“I was researching what kind of Elvis impersonators we could get…none of them seemed disrespectful to the King’s memory. So let them keep giving couples the day of their lives.”
