Prince Harry and Meghan had their first face-to-face meeting with Charles since giving up royal life, but the meeting at Windsor Castle only lasted 15 minutes, sources say.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew to the UK to meet with the Queen en route to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, where they made their first public appearance in Europe in more than two years.

It was a mysterious visit to Windsor where Harry first met his father Charles in front of the Queen in what the Daily Mail described as an “edgy” reunion.

Harry is said to have offered to stop over on his way to the Netherlands a year after they last met at Prince Philip’s funeral.

And he also had the opportunity to meet Charles, who was attending a Maundy Thursday service at St George’s Chapel with Camilla.

The meeting with Charles is said to have taken place around 10 a.m. and lasted around 15 minutes Daily Mail Source says Camilla got halfway through.

The source explained: “He (Charles) loves his son and he was heartbroken by everything that happened, although he fears history will repeat itself with Harry in the same way it did with Princess Diana. But he also wants to keep the door open and keep talking, something he still regrets not doing with Diana.”

The meeting was an opportunity to clear the air as the relationship has grown increasingly chilly since the Sussexes left the UK and settled in California.

After meeting Charles, Harry and Meghan then saw the Queen where the “atmosphere was a lot less jittery.”

It is believed the Queen was sad that she did not have the opportunity to meet her great-grandchildren, but the Duke and Duchess said they want to return so they can spend time with 11-month-old Lilibet and Archie, two can. who are believed to be in the United States.

The Queen has suffered from a number of health issues in recent months.

A source close to the Sussexes said: “Both the Duke and Duchess are very aware that the Queen is aging and has had health issues related to her old age.

“They have made it clear that they definitely plan to return with their family to see the Queen in the near future.”

The Sussexes have criticized the royal family in regular media appearances across the United States, including the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. Harry told Oprah that he felt he needed to end the cycle and raise his family in a new environment away from the royals.

With Harry announcing he will be publishing his memoir later this year, there are also concerns in royal circles that new allegations could be leveled to harm the family.
