CAUSE Harry and Meghan Markle have set up companies a tax haven state for Harry’s multi-million dollar memoir, along with a host of other transactions, according to reports.
Attorneys and business managers for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have established 11 companies and a trust for the couple since April 2020, according to state records.
The couple chose to set up companies in the domestic tax haven of Delaware – rather than in California, where they live and conduct business.
Two of the companies are publishing companies, founded by attorney Richard Genow, who has worked with Meghan for many years, and the duchess’ chief business officer, currency expert Andrew Meyer, reports. Online email.
The first company – Peca Publishing LLC – was used by Meghan to hold the copyright to her children’s book The Bench.
The second company – Orinoco Publishing LLC – which is said to have been formed to hold the rights to Harry’s bombshell memoir – will be published later this year.
Peca translates from Spanish to freckles – possibly a reference to a book Meghan wrote in 8th grade titled A Face Without Freckles… A Night Without the Stars.
And Orinoco is the name of a South American river, flowing through Venezuela and Colombia.
Other companies founded by the Sussexes include Cobblestone Lane LLC – incorporated in February 2020 and holding the Archewell logo.
Two others manage the royal Netflix and Spotify net deals – Archewell Audio LLC and Archewell Productions LLC.
Two other “entertainment” companies were formed a year later – Bridgemont LLC and Hampshire LLC.
It is thought the names of these companies could be a nod to the couple’s holiday to Hampshire during the last few weeks of Meghan’s pregnancy in spring 2019.
Meanwhile Baobab Holdings, founded in February 2021 – is said to deal with “investments”.
Baobab, which is a plant from Africa and Australia, is also known as the “hanging tree”.
Another company, Nemawashi Holdings LLC, is described as the “parent company”.
In Japanese, Nemawashi means an informal process that quietly lays the groundwork for some proposed change or project.
Harry’s Bombshell memoir to be released later this year and, according to its publishers, will include details of “Harry’s life in the public eye from his childhood to the present day”.
The duke has vowed to give a “completely honest” account of his life, with the announcement said to have caused a “tsunami of fear” in Buckingham Palace.
The exact release date of the book is yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile Harry intends to sue the UK Government in a desperate attempt to regain the police protection he lost in the United Kingdom when he gave up royal life.
The Sussexes were stripped of round-the-clock protection as they relinquished their royal duties.
But Harry is now said to want to bring his son Archie and young daughter Lilibet to visit from the US – and is worried that would be too dangerous.
The unprecedented move has cast doubt on whether Harry will return to the UK for his 70th year on the Queen’s throne, with suggestions Meghan Markle may never come back.
