Harry and Meghan make their stage debut as terrible puppets for Spitting Image

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made their stage debut as ghastly puppets in the new theatrical production Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World.
Harry and Meghan appeared alongside other famous faces including King, rapper Stormzy and Tom Cruise at the show’s world premiere on Tuesday.

Co-written by comedians Sean Foley, Matt Forde and Al Murray, the play is being staged at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
It sees world-famous personalities rally together, with Hollywood star Cruise being tasked with saving Britain by Charles.

Other satirical puppets featured on the show’s roster include climate activists Greta Thunberg and Sir Ian McKellen as well as former and current members of Government.
Some puppets are more exaggerated than others, with former Home Secretary Priti Patel depicted as a bat-like creature.

Spitting Image previously made its way to London’s West End in 2022, with a show featuring former prime minister Boris Johnson.
The popular sketch show, featuring puppets of famous characters, returned to BritBox in September 2021 after a revival in 2020 for the first time in 24 years.

It originally ran for 18 series from 1984 to 1996 and was viewed by 15 million people in its prime.
