Harry and Meghan ‘vow not to overshadow Jubilee’ as Queen welcomes them with open arms

The 96-year-old Sovereign has made it clear she doesn’t want family tensions to overshadow the four-day national celebration next weekend and the Sussexes appear to be playing along

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hinted they won’t overshadow the anniversary as the Queen hopes for a hassle-free weekend.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex return to the UK as a family for the first time in years next week to meet with Her Majesty their 11-month-old great-granddaughter Lilibet for the first time.
Despite the Sussexes’ habit of making surprise public and media appearances, the couple intend to stick to pre-planned anniversary events and otherwise stay out of the spotlight. reports the Telegraph.
A source said the Sussexes intend to limit themselves to public engagements next weekend.
They have discussed logistical arrangements with the palace, but other than that, royal aides are kept at arm’s length about their larger plans.

The Jubilee celebrates the Queen’s 70th reign with a four-day bank holiday weekend starting on June 2nd.
A source said the 96-year-old monarch wished it was “an occasion for the country, including her own family, to come together,” the reports Daily Mail.
Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States. Her interview with Oprah caused a lot of uproar in the royal family and deepened the rift between Harry and William.
But it seems the brothers are taking big steps to repair their relationship.
Above all, the Queen wants the family to be united at the celebrations.

A royal source added: “Her Majesty believes this will send a strong message to the world that despite the family’s trials and tribulations in recent years, those at the very top are united to continue with the work and share their feelings for share a duty and dedication to serve the people of this country and the Commonwealth.”
Harry and William are set to reconcile, with William reportedly hoping to put past grievances behind them.
A source told the Sunday Mirror: “They have also had FaceTime calls with their children, which has allowed them to reconnect.
“William sees that Meghan is a good mother and a devoted wife and he’s really happy for his brother.
“It seems the two have healed the rift and gone back to their old pal terms.”
News of their healing relationship will come as a relief to the Queen, who is set to welcome Harry and Meghan with open arms next week.
