Harry “disrespected the Queen and her family in the royal dispute,” says a friend

Harry’s royal exit has come at a price, as William is adamant his younger brother is wrong and may have trouble reconciling, according to a friend

Prince William believes Prince Harry has “crossed a line” by continuing to disregard his family, according to a close friend.

As William nears his 40th birthday next week, the strained relationship with his brother will continue to come under scrutiny, the reports Email online.

Sources close to the second in line to the throne reveal there is still a long way to go before they can ease the chilly tensions between the two.

“The rift with his brother was really tough for William,” a source said. “It’s like he’s grieving the relationship he lost.

“People don’t know that he fathered Harry to some extent. Not only was he his brother, he was also a parent who was always trying to bring Harry back from the abyss.

“But make no mistake, he’s angry. He believes Harry disrespected the Queen and her family.”

Tension could also heat up as Harry releases his memoir later in the year in a multi-million deal.

However, William remains protective of his younger brother and will keep the door open to him forever, according to sources.

Another friend believes Harry has always had reservations about life in the institution and has suggested that the pressures of living and working with William put a huge strain on their relationship. They added that Meghan Markle was also complicating things.

William is reportedly still furious with his wife, who he believes was massively disrespected by Meghan when she claimed in last year’s interview with Oprah Winfrey that it was Kate who made her cry before their wedding – not vice versa.

His relationship with his brother stands in stark contrast to other aspects of his life as his marriage to Kate Middleton is as strong as ever and fatherhood brings satisfaction.

His relationship with his father, Prince Charles, also appears to be in smooth waters, having been seen as tumultuous over the years, particularly in his early teens.

When asked if they thought William would mend his bond with Harry, a friend commented, saying William was “very principled” and thought Harry had crossed a line.
