Harry: I shopped at TK Maxx despite the official clothing allowance from the King

The Duke of Sussex has revealed that despite receiving an official clothing allowance from his father, the King, he will shop for his “daily casual clothes” in TK Maxx.
Harry says he “particularly likes” the discount store’s annual sale, where he can buy designer items for less.
Writing in his autobiography Spare, the duke shared his “system” for getting bargains and optimizing his shopping time.

“Every year I receive from Pa a formal clothing allowance, but that is only for formal wear. Suits and ties, ceremonial attire,” he wrote.
“For my everyday casual clothes, I would go to TK Maxx, the discount store.
“I especially love their once-a-year sale, when they are flooded with items from Gap or J Crew that are just out of season or slightly damaged.”
Describing his shopping, he continued: “If you choose the right timing, get there on the first day of the sale, you can get the same clothes that everyone else wears. are paying the highest price to buy on high street!
“For two hundred pounds you can look like a fashion plate.”

Harry added that he would aim to get to the store 15 minutes before closing time and “systematically” find his way down.
He says he’s never “been hazy about color or style” and “certainly never gets close to a dressing room”.
“At closing time, we ran out with two giant shopping bags, feeling triumphant,” he wrote.
“Now the press won’t call me lazy anymore. At least for a little bit.”
