Former Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate believes Harry Kane will leave the club this summer if Antonio Conte quits.
Onte, who was appointed by Spurs in November, has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain who are expected to sack ex-Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Woodgate, who spent three years at Tottenham from 2008 to 2011, believes it is important his former employers stick with the Italian as he believes his future is directly linked to Kane’s.
England captain Kane was chased by Manchester City last summer but stalled in the end after their high-profile pursuit fell through.
The 28-year-old could attract interest from top clubs again this summer and Woodgate believes Conte’s whereabouts will persuade Kane to do the same.
“I think if Conte goes, Kane goes,” Woodgate said. “He has two years left on his contract and Conte has just one year left and it has been rumored with other clubs.
“And I think Conte will leave if they don’t finish in the top four. I know City looks like they’ve completed the signing [Erling] Haaland, but there will be someone out there who wants to take on Harry Kane – he’s world class.”
