Harry Styles: My new album will be by far the most intimate

Harry Styles has said his forthcoming album Harry’s House will be by far his “most intimate” album yet.
The 28-year-old pop superstar will release his highly anticipated third studio album on May 20th.
The Grammy winner admitted he used to be worried his records would be a big commercial hit, but now he’s focused on making music he can be “proud of for a long time”.
Styles told Better Homes & Gardens magazine that his upcoming album “sounds like the biggest and funniest” but that it’s “by far the most intimate.”
He released his self-titled debut album in 2017, which topped the charts and in 2019 his second work, Fine Line, which peaked at number two on the albums chart.
Reflecting on his first solo album, the singer said he felt he couldn’t make “funny music” after his stint with One Direction if he wanted to be “serious as a musician”.
While he felt “freer” with his second record, he was more concerned with making “really big songs.”
He explained that his priorities for this upcoming album are different: “After all, if this album doesn’t become a commercial success, it doesn’t feel like my life is over.”
“I just want to do things that are right, that are fun, in terms of the process, that I can be proud of for a long time, that my friends can be proud of, that my family can be proud of, that my kids will be be proud one day,” he added.

Styles founded Harry’s House during the pandemic after his typically hectic schedule stalled for the first time since he found fame on The X Factor in 2010 when he was crammed into the hit boy band.
After realizing he had to get through the time at home like everyone else, he used the lockdown to reflect on himself and face things he hadn’t thought of before.
He said: “I realized that that home feeling isn’t something you get from a house, it’s more of an internal thing.
“You can tell if you stop for a minute.”
While his second album Fine Line referenced many of Styles’ favorite musicians such as Joni Mitchell and David Bowie, he said that this time he deliberately chose to play nothing but classical music in order to start with a “blank canvas”.
The album’s first single, As It Was, has already been very well received and has topped the UK Singles Chart for the past three weeks.
Styles credits his upbringing with influencing his outlook on his success, saying, “My producer keeps asking me when I’m going to have my big breakdown.
“The most honest version I can think of is that I didn’t grow up poor by any means, but we didn’t have much money and I had an expectation of what I could achieve in life.
“I feel like everything else was a bonus and I’m so happy.”
