Harry Styles has opened up about former bandmate Liam Payne’s bizarre new accent following the Wolverhampton-born star’s much-discussed Oscars interview.
Speaking at Capital Breakfast this morning, Harry, 28, admitted his own accent is “a bit everywhere”, but he’s trying to “translate” his way of speaking depending on who he’s with.
The whole talk chat comes after former One Direction star Liam, 28, stunned British Good Morning viewers with his ever-changing accent and an American twang during a red carpet interview at the Oscars on Sunday night.
As Liam opened up about the shocking moment Will Smith slammed comedian Chris Rock for a joke he made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, the Midlands singer’s analysis and comments went viral thanks to his brand new accent.

As Liam’s former One Direction pal Harry joined Sonny Jay and Roman Kemp at Capital Breakfast this morning, the radio hosts couldn’t resist asking the Watermelon Sugar singer what he thought of his former bandmate’s new vibe.
“Speaking of home, you’re not really home now, you’re in America at the moment, but we’ve seen some pretty wild accents from the 1D boys, and in particular from Mr. Liam Payne on the Oscars red carpet, now I gotta you.” ask, did you even start getting a transatlantic accent from America? Sonny asked the singer, who is currently promoting his upcoming movies and new music.

“Well don’t think in the time I just got here because I only arrived yesterday for the Coachella rehearsals so I think I survived in the time I spent this trip here I have,” Harry began his diplomatic reply.
“I think it’s a little bit everywhere because I’m from the far north and I’ve lived in London for 10 years and I’ve spent a lot of time in America and stuff and I think when I’m with Americans they don’t find me at all sound American, and sometimes when I’m with English people they expect me to sound American, I don’t think so, but I try to translate for everyone I’m with! “

Elsewhere in his most recent interview, Harry revealed that music will always take precedence over his blossoming acting career.
The star will appear in a number of films later this year – including Don’t Worry Darling, a psychological thriller directed by Harry’s friend Olivia Wilde.
Speaking on the radio this morning about his diverse talents, the former X Factor contestant was asked if he saw himself as “an artist first or an actor first”.

“I mean, I guess I’m a musician first,” Harry replied live on air to Roman.
“I feel really fortunate to have a job that I love and I’m very grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to explore acting, which is something I did as a kid and in school, and I’ve always really gotten into it loved it and in that context it was a really nice opportunity for me to get out of my comfort zone a lot and start fresh, it was a lot of fun.”
