Harry Styles says his big Grammy win is like confirmation that he’s “on the right track” with his music.
The 29-year-old singer took home the biggest award of the night – album of the year – for his third studio album, Harry’s House.
Speaking in the winners’ room after the ceremony, Styles said he was “overwhelmed” but “very grateful” to receive the award and that the album was “for my friends”.
“I think we’re overwhelmed at the moment, I certainly didn’t expect this,” he told the PA news agency.
“I think being nominated for categories like this is like winning, being recognized by your peers.
“It’s great to receive this, I don’t think that’s why anyone in the room did it, but I’m so grateful that they think our album deserves it.”
He continued: “I think more than anything, it’s just a genuine feeling that you’re on the right track in choosing, when we go into the studio and just make the music that we want to make. go out.
“It’s great to feel like ‘oh that’s the right thing to do’ and it’s crazy. I’m really proud of everyone who made the album.
“I will continue to say that this one is for my friends.”
Styles received the top gong from a raving fan, who was brought on stage by Grammy host Trevor Noah and embraced her as he accepted the award.
Earlier in the evening, Styles also took home the Grammy Award for best pop vocal album and performed his hit song As It Was.

Styles joined a group of dancers for a neatly choreographed performance on a separate filming stage, similar to the song’s music video.
