Has Oleksandr Usyk ever lost? Record before Anthony Joshua’s rematch

Arguably the biggest fight of the year takes place this Saturday as Anthony Joshua seeks to avenge his loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

After losing the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles to the Ukrainian in London last September, Joshua will face Usyk this weekend in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to regain the belts.

In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ‘AJ’ avenged the only other loss of his professional career – a loss to Andy Ruiz Jr – three years ago and the Brit will look to repeat that feat here.

By pointing out Ruiz Jr. in December 2019, Joshua reclaimed the gold he lost to the Mexican six months earlier – the belts he would later relinquish to Usyk.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Joshua and Usyk’s seismic rematch.

When is it?

Usyk vs. Joshua 2 takes place on Saturday 20th August at the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia.

Ring walks for the main event contest are expected to occur at approximately 10:30pm BST (2:30pm PT, 4:30pm CT, 5:30pm ET).

How can I view it?

Sky Sports Box Office will be the only place to watch the fight in the UK and Ireland.

The pay-per-view event costs £26.95 in the UK and €31.95 in Ireland.

What are the records of Joshua and Usyk?

Joshua’s professional record is 24-2 with 22 of his wins coming by KO/TKO. The Brit’s two defeats have come against Ruiz Jr. and Usyk. Ruiz Jr. stopped Joshua in the seventh round while Usyk defeated “AJ” by unanimous decision (117-112, 115-113, 116-112).

Meanwhile, Usyk is 19-0 unbeaten as a pro, with 13 of his wins coming via KO/TKO. Before dethroning Joshua as the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion, the Ukrainian reigned as the only undisputed cruiserweight champion of the four-belt era.

During their amateur careers, Joshua and Usyk both won Olympic gold medals.
