A new retro-inspired restaurant is set to open on the main street.
Set to open on South Road, Haywards Heath, the Francisco Lounge is described as a “home from home” for residents.
Menu highlights include the chicken parmo burger with mozzarella, marinara sauce, and garlic mayo, along with pulled brisket chili and a tapas menu. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available, like the Miami brunch, where corn fritters and black bean salsa meet crumbled feta and avocado.
The restaurant is also getting ready for the festive season with the release of its Christmas menu, featuring the Christmas Clucker burger with fried chicken with brie, cranberry sauce and a pig in a blanket.
Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at parent company Loungers, said: “We are extremely excited to welcome the Haywards Heath community to the Francisco Lounge. Our lounges strive to put community at the heart of hospitality and our teams go the extra mile to make a difference.”
Furnishings at the location, which was formerly a Curry’s PC World store, include painted tables and vintage couches.
The restaurant will also incorporate design features unique to Haywards Heath, drawing inspiration from the town’s history. A mural inside the venue depicts infamous mugger Jack Hayward, who is said to have given his name to the area, with the restaurant’s name being linked to St. Francis.
The lounge will also have a community focus, including fundraising for the Bentswood Community Hub. Francisco Lounge donates 50p from every burger sold in the first month and 20p from every coffee.
Anna Sharkley, development manager for the centre, said she was “so excited” to partner with the restaurant and “work together to support the local community for better outcomes”.
The lounge will create 25 jobs as the restaurant seeks to hire front-of-house staff, as well as chefs and other back-of-house roles.
The Francisco Lounge opens on Wednesday 19th October.
