The Heartbeat star is unrecognizable Nick Berry eight years after giving up on his acting career.

British actor who played the handsome PC guy Nick Rowan for six years in Heartbeat from 1992 to 1998.

Before playing the forgettable cop, Nick starred in EastEnders, where he played Simon Wicks for five years before finally calling time on BBC One in 1990.

After leaving Albert Square, he took on the role of harbor owner Mike Nicholls in Harbor Lights.

Then he got the role of Nick Rowan woman.

Nick even had a brief pop career when he released the single Every Loser Wins in 1986, which became the second best-selling single in the UK that year.

He hit the UK charts again with a cover of Buddy Holly’s hit ‘Heartbeat’, which peaked at #2 in 1992.

The actor last appeared on television a decade ago in 2012 at the funeral of Pat Butcher, his mother on the EastEnders screen.

Since then, Nick, now 58, has barely stayed out of the limelight as he focuses on his family life.

In his most recent appearance, the silver fox looked unrecognizable from his days in the phone.

Nick, who is now a stay-at-home dad, was accompanied by his adorable dog as he wore a scarf and casual outfit.

He was then photographed helping his pet dog into his red Land Rover.

Nick decided to give up his television career to become a stay-at-home dad to his sons Louis and Finley, with whom he shares a wife, Rachel Robertson.

The couple married in 1994 and decided to prioritize family life not long after.

The happy family now all live in Epping in Essex – but Nick has not completely ruled out a return to his previous acting career.

When he decided to pack up his acting career, it was due to the sales schedule that ‘robbed’ him of his time with his two young sons.

However, now that Louis and Finley are older, Nick will ‘never say never’ return to his television career.

“I chose to be a stay-at-home dad and loved it,” he told Mail Online in a 2011 interview.

“I always say that when they’re teenagers, I can come back, but the longer you don’t do something, the harder it gets, and I haven’t really missed it.

“Although I would never say never, I’m really happy. The job is amazing. You get carried around, fed every 5 minutes and told what to do and where to go. What I struggled with was that the boys were so young and I felt like I was going to be filming all the time.

“I was blessed with these little people but I wasn’t really there. I realized that I wanted to be at home.”
