Heartbreak as a ‘beautiful and kind’ daughter killed in a horrific accident alongside a pensioner

The family of a 30-year-old woman who died in a car crash say her death left a “gaping hole” in her life.

Aimee Williams was killed along with an 83-year-old Worthing man in a serious accident in Cowford, West Sussex, on Monday morning.

She was described as a “beautiful, happy, kind daughter” who had a “contagious smile and positive zest for life”.

A silver Ford Fiesta, a white Ford Fiesta and a Skania dump truck were involved in the horror crash. Kent Live reports.

Officials have confirmed two other Kent women, both aged 23, were also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The A272 remained closed while emergency services responded to the incident.

A statement released by Aimee’s family said she is a “beautiful, happy and kind daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister and recently devoted aunt.”

“She had countless friends and work colleagues and touched the lives of many with her infectious smile and positive zest for life.

“Her tragic death has left a gaping hole in all of our lives.

“We are grateful to all the first responders who were on the scene and tried to save their lives.”

“Losing your daughter in these circumstances is every parent’s worst nightmare and our grief is unimaginable and unbearable,” it said.

“We would be grateful if people would respect our privacy at this difficult time.”

Aimee worked in the ultrasound department at Maidstone Hospital, having previously worked for Norwegian Airways.

Sussex Police are appealing for information from witnesses who may help them investigate the incident.

Detective Sergeant Rob Baldwin, of the Surrey & Sussex Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We would particularly like to speak to anyone traveling on the A272 between the village of Cowfold and Littleworth Lane in the west between 11.15am and 11.30am on Monday morning. who has dash camera footage.

“We would also like to speak to any resident or business who has CCTV footage showing the road between these locations.” Anyone with information is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk or Call 101 and quote Operation Banwell.
