Heathrow Airport is introducing a passenger cap to meet travel demand

Heathrow Airport imposed a cap on passenger numbers this summer as the airline sector struggles to meet demand for travel.

From July 12 to September 11, more than 100,000 passengers will be able to depart daily, West London Airport said.

According to Heathrow, airlines planned to operate flights with an average daily capacity of 104,000 seats during this period.

The airport said it has ordered airlines to “stop selling summer tickets to limit the impact on passengers”.
