Helen Skelton returns to TV after breaking up with her husband

Helen Skelton has returned to television for the first time since splitting from husband Richie Myler last month.

The presenter shared the sad news in an emotional statement on her Instagram Stories in April and took a break from TV to focus on herself.

Days after it was revealed that Leeds Rhino player Richie, 31, is dating Stephanie Thirkill, 32, Helen has taken the job of hosting Channel 4’s rugby league tournament.

She has been absent from her BBC1 presentation work at Countryfile since the split but fans were delighted to see her present the Hull KR v Catalan Dragons match on Channel 4.

The 38-year-old is leading the way in coverage in the absence of presenter Adam Hills, who is currently in Australia.

Fans have been extremely supportive of the presenter and have taken to social media to share their thoughts on her return to the screen.

One user said: “I love @HelenSkelton! Excellent host and very passionate about our game of trump card. ”

“It’s great to see Helen Skelton still presenting the Rugby League on Channel 4,” said another impressed fan. “I’m sure it hasn’t been easy for her in recent events but she always does her job excellently because she is a top quality professional.”

Helen looked fresh-faced as she donned an oversized black blazer, black trousers and brown boots. Shoulder length hair.

Helen and Richie split just four months after the couple welcomed their third child, Elsie Kate.

The couple are also proud parents to sons, Ernie, six, and Louis, four.

In a short statement after the split, Helen sent fans: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home.”

“We’ll do our best to be parents to our little ones.”

Richie has yet to go public with her split from Helen but was recently spotted walking with Stephanie.

Stephanie is the daughter of the multi-millionaire chairman of his club Leeds Rhinos, with whom he is said to have embarked on a new relationship.

Both insist they didn’t start a relationship until Richie broke up with Helen.

Just days after the split was announced, Helen was absent from Countryfile, prompting fans to express their support.

Sunday’s show was hosted by Adam Henson and Anita Rani when viewers noticed Helen’s absence.

Helen still posts a few ads on her Instagram Stories, where she is seen without a wedding ring.

Last week, she hit the red carpet for the first time since her split and looks as stunning as ever.

She attended the Sports Industry Awards at Evolution London last week and looked elegant in a cream-colored frock.
