The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations have been formally marked at the moment as gun salutes have been fired throughout the nation to mark Her Majesty’s 70-year reign.

At midday the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, named by the Queen’s father King George VI, 75 years in the past, fired a 41-gun salute from London’s Inexperienced Park.
