FREQUENT flyers know how frustrating it is to have to wait for your luggage to show up after you get off the plane.
But one airline is offering passengers free gifts if their luggage doesn’t show up within 20 minutes of getting off the plane.
Delta Air Lines offers all passengers the assurance that if their checked baggage does not reach the conveyor belt in 20 minutes or less, they will receive 2,500 bonus miles.
Miles can be awarded for complimentary prizes such as airline tickets, business and first class upgrades, and luxury products.
Passengers on an airline that operates up to 13 daily flights from the UK to the US, simply fill out a form within three days of flight.
The offer only applies to domestic flights within the US, so Britons with connecting flights can take advantage.
Naam Wynn, a monetization expert who shares tips on social media, made a Tiktok video to reveal the advice.
In the video, he is talking to an airport employee.
Naam said: “Hi, I’ve been waiting 30 minutes and still haven’t found my bag.”
Airport staff said: “Sorry to hear that, but we’re a little bit backed up. It’s coming soon.”
“I know that Delta has a 20-minute baggage guarantee. If it doesn’t arrive on time, I’ll get 2,500 bonus points,” Naam said.
“The airport staff said, ‘Fine, just fill out this form. “
The video has been viewed 1.2 million times and received nearly 100,000 likes from people who have used the tip.
One person wrote: “Did it before. I was at the conveyor belt, 21 minutes hitting, bags still not out, filling out the form, boom, mile sky a few minutes later.”
Another commented: “Probably got about 20k free miles last year because their bags are guaranteed.
“I time them every time we get to the gate.”
The third said that they try and work with the system to make sure they get free points.
They say: “If I had time, I would check my luggage to the airports, where I know it will always take a while. [to get luggage back] – I got free flights worth of points from this! “
