Here’s how to watch today’s Nintendo Direct – and what to expect

Yesterday, Nintendo announced a Nintendo Direct ahead of the Tokyo Game Show (TGS), Asia’s largest gaming showcase.

Nintendo will not broadcast the event live in the UK following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

However, British fans can still follow the event. Here’s everything we know about the September 13, 2022 Nintendo Direct.

Where can I watch Nintendo Direct in September?

Nintendo will upload Nintendo Direct after it’s live streamed in other regions.

It will be available as a video on the Nintendo Official YouTube Channel today (13.09.).

However, if you are in the UK and want to watch the event live, you can watch it on a different channel.

For a live English version of the event, you can watch the American Nintendo YouTube channel.

It will be live here an hour earlier than the UK video.

When is today’s Nintendo Direct?

The video will be available in the UK from 4 p.m local time.

However, the event will be livestreamed sooner for attendees in other regions.

Here are the times when Nintendo Direct goes live in your time zone.


  • 7 a.m. Western US (PST)
  • 10:00 am Eastern US (EST)
  • 3pm UK Time (BST)
  • 11pm Japan (JST)


  • 00:00 Eastern Australia (AET)
  • 02:00 New Zealand (NZT)

What can we expect from September’s Nintendo Direct?

With TGS around the corner, we mainly expect Japanese games to be showcased at the event.

There will likely be plenty of updates to existing games like Mario Kart 8 and perhaps cover the launch of Splatoon 3.

A number of games announced for Switch and coming out this year are also likely to appear.

Bayonetta 3, Mario + Rabbids, Sonic Frontiers and the upcoming Square Enix games Diofield Chronicles and Harvestella could be shown.

People are hoping to see more of Nintendo’s flagship series, The Legend of Zelda.

The Breath of the Wild sequel is in development and fans are excited for more.

Following the success of Skyward Sword and Link’s Awakening, there has also been talk of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess remasters for Nintendo’s latest console.

However, it’s unclear if these will be shown at the event or if they’re even in development.
