Here’s Spider-Man in the Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 demo

Built on Unreal Engine 5, the Matrix Awakens demo may have been made for a pop culture franchise, but that hasn’t stopped modders from adding other favorites like Spider-Man to its world.
As reported by Eurogamer, YouTuber DWR shared footage of a playable Spider-Man demo – which you can see here – set in the megacity created for the Matrix Awakens demo and made using Lewis Fiford’s UE4 Spider-Man project. As you might expect, the demo, which you can download here, allows you to swing around like Spidey and even wall-walk on the city’s many buildings.
DWR notes that the demo is “a heavy burden” and will come with some framerate drops, but it gives a glimpse of what the future of Spider-Man on UE5 could be.
The Spider-Man demo follows a similar mod by TJATOMICA, which stars Superman and allows players to fly around the city like Superman.
Released in December 2021, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is an impressive showcase that showcases the potential of the new engine that is now available.
Hopefully this glimpse into Spider-Man’s future will help ease the wait a little bit for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2, due out for PS5 in 2023.
