Here’s Your First Look at the Addams Family From Tim Burton’s Wednesdays

Although the show includes the original style of the characters, it also comes with some major changes. Most notable is the fact that “Wednesday” catches up with its eponymous character when she’s no longer a little girl. Now that she’s a teenager, she’s more independent and has plenty of reasons to mull over. One of them is her complicated relationship with her mother. Gough described Morticia and Wednesday as “a season-long relationship.”

Except for the part where she solves a supernatural mystery, masters her emerging psychic abilities, and stave off a monstrous murder, Wednesday’s affairs aren’t too different from those of a typical teen’s. you – she is finding herself and learning to live with her family.

In another image from the series (which you can see at Vanity Fair), Wednesday was seen staring into a locker where her brother was tied and stuck with an apple in his mouth. She is either rescuing him, or torturing him: that is, in short, the nature of their relationship. Miles Millar summed it up by explaining Wednesday was faced with her unexpected little brother.

“She’s allowed to torture him. No one else. That’s the difference. She’ll defend him to the end against bullies or whatever, but she has a license to do those things. whatever she wants. She protects him in a very Wednesday way.”

Every family has its quirks, but the Addams Family takes that to the absolute climax. Despite her tendency to torment her older brother, and love-hate relationship with her charming mother, underneath each of them is a lot of love. Millar said, “In the end, that’s it. They’re always backing each other and that’s unconditional love.”

“Wednesday” will premiere on Netflix this Halloween season, in the fall of 2022. Here’s Your First Look at the Addams Family From Tim Burton’s Wednesdays
