A man has been sentenced to three years in prison for violently and sexually assaulting a woman.
Lewes Crown Court heard that Luke Narine, of Church Road, Herstmonceux, had assaulted a woman on multiple occasions in August and September this year, severely injuring her face and body.
She also reported being sexually assaulted by Narine.
The 27-year-old was subsequently arrested and charged with sexual assault, actual bodily harm (ABH), assault and assault.
Narine pleaded guilty to all four charges in Brighton Magistrates Court on 6 September and was remanded in custody.
He appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Wednesday (November 23) where he was sentenced to a total of three years in prison.
Investigator George Shannon said: “I would like to commend the victim of Narines for their courage in supporting this charge.”
