Hogwarts Legacy will be released on Holidays 2022.
Two years after it was first revealed to the world, Avalanche Software has announced the Hogwarts Legacy will be released this holiday.
Before the release window, Avalanche showcased almost 20 minutes of gameplay covering all the different activities that players can engage in in their lives as a wizard student at Hogwarts. This includes taking magic classes, wizard duels, raising magical creatures, and more.
Hogwarts Legacy was announced in 2020 and scheduled for release in 2021 before being delayed to 2022. The holiday release deadline is a bit more specific so hopefuls can catch an incoming train. Hogwarts will have to wait until the end of the year program.
State of Play these days is mostly geared towards showing off the different activities players can do at Hogwarts, and it’s pretty minimal. From being arranged to your own home and studying as a fifth year wizard student, the Hogwarts Legacy really seems to be an opportunity for players to live their life as a wizard student.
As for the plot details, those are not over yet. Players will join as fifth-year students in the late 1800s. It’s also entirely possible for players to create their own characters, so no main character is set to live. See our full list of Hogwarts Legacy game details here.
The game has stirred up discussion about its connection to Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who has become known in recent years for her disparaging comments. Warner Bros. said the author was not directly involved with the game, but management said “she has the right to express her personal views”. Reports have suggested that the game will allow transgender characters to be created.
